Biden-Lugar Amendment will help Pakistan financially: Senator Mushahid Hussain
WASHINGTON: I hope the outcome of the American elections on November 4 is positive for the relationship of the United States and Pakistan.
This was observed by Senator Syed Mushahid Hussain at a reception hosted in his honor on Monday (October 20) by Founder and Chairman of the Pakistan American Business Association (PABA) M. Siddique Sheikh.
“We hope that any new leadership that emerges in American after the election would give a new vision to the United States, especially for the US relations with our country,” Senator Mushahid added.
Appreciating the Biden-Lugar Amendment in the Foreign Assistance Act, he said both parties in the Congress give the commitment of financial aid for Pakistan to the tune of $1.5 billion in the next five years.
Senator Mushahid is also the chairman of Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee. Prior to visiting Washington, he, as the head of a delegation of Pakistani senators, met Dr. Aafia Siddique in Texas prison.
